Date - June 28th

About Paul Bunyan Day

Paul Bunyan day is an American Folklore celebration. Celebrated on different days in different areas of the U.S.

The legend of Paul Bunyan started with stories told by men in lumber camps, dating from the 1800's and was believed to have originated among French Canadians during the Papineau rebellion of 1837.

Paul Bunyan became a legend as tales of this giant lumberjack who performed incredible feats spread. Some of these tales include: he scooped out the Great Lakes to get water for his blue ox, Babe; he cleared the entire states of North and South Dakota for farming; he trained ants to do logging work; and he is even credited with creating logging in the U.S.
