World Elephant Day is August 12th

World Elephant Day celebrates one of the most intelligent and beloved creatures in Africa and Asia. Unfortunately they are also one of the most endangered animals currently. Elephant poaching is a huge problem facing elephant populations wherever they live. Raising awareness about this problem is another goal of World Elephant Day. If the demand for ivory disappears then there will no reason for poaching to continue. You can celebrate this holiday by spreading the word, or donating to charities that help elephants.
