Body First

Most popular musical artists have released a Christmas album at some point, so there are no shortage of fun Christmas songs out there to listen to no matter what your style of music. But not all Christmas songs are created equally. Some have been recorded hundreds of times, while others have less than 50 recordings. Luckily for us, Time Magazine has catalogued a list of every copyrighted recording of each Christmas song since 1978. Here are the top 10 most recorded songs (as of 2014 when the list was made).

1. Silent Night

Silent Night has been recorded 733 times, making it almost twice as popular as the second most recorded song. Its simple melody and lullaby style make it a great fit for all kinds of voices.

2. Joy to the World

The Christmas season is one of the most joyful times of year, which is probably why Joy to the World has been recorded 391 times.

3. O Holy Night
