Orthodox Christmas

Orthodox Christmas Day is celebrated on January 7 in countries such as Belarus, Egypt, Ethiopia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Serbia, Russia, and Ukraine. It is sometimes referred to as Old Christmas Day which was the date celebrated in the Julian Calendar prior to the adoption of the Gregorian calendar by most of the world. Many Orthodox churches recognize the Julian Calendar date of January 7th as the date to celebrate Christmas.
