Patriot Day

Patriot Day is a day of remembrance to honor the 2,977 people who were killed in the terrorist attacks of September 11th 2001. Many Americans still refer to this day as simply 9/11 or September 11th. All U.S. government buildings must fly the American Flag at half-staff and Americans are encouraged to fly their own flags. Many people observe a moment of silence at the time when the first plane hit the World Trade Center at 8:46 A.M.
