Holidays & Observances in Thailand
Thailand is a country in central Asia. It has never been colonized throughout history, so most of its cultural elements are uniquely Thai. The only cultural influences are from surrounding countries. Buddhism is the predominant religion practiced by nearly the entire country, and it is a very important part of the culture. Almost all of the holidays in Thailand celebrate either Buddhism or the monarchy, for which there are several holidays for birthdays of monarchs and important historical events.
