Abhidhamma Day

Abhidhamma Day is a Theravada Buddhist tradition celebrated primarily in Myanmar. It celebrates the Burmese tradition of when the Buddha went to the Tushita Heaven to teach his mother the Abhidhamma.

It is observed on the full moon of the seventh month of the Burmese lunar year starting in April which corresponds to the full moon day in October. ​​
