Marfan Syndrome Awareness Month

February is Marfan Syndrome Awareness Month. Marfan syndrome is a genetic disorder that affects the body’s connective tissue, which holds all the body’s cells, organs and tissue together. It also plays an important part in making sure the body grows and develops properly. Many people are still unaware of this syndrome, though 1 in 5,000 people have it. People with Marfan syndrome are born with it, but it may not present itself right away. Learning more about the signs and symptoms here can help with development and treatment.
