Glaucoma Awareness Month

January is National Glaucoma Awareness Month. Did you know there are more than 3 million people in the United States (over 60 million people worldwide) who currently have glaucoma? Glaucoma is the leading cause of preventable blindness, and can take up to 40% of a person's vision before they notice. There are no symptoms, but once vision is lost, it's permanent. Be sure to get tested at your annual eye exams and take extra precautions if glaucoma runs in your family.
