July is National Cord Blood Awareness Month. Most people probably don't realize how important umbilical cord blood is to stem cell research. Blood taken from umbilical cords has stem cells that can be used to treat all kinds of diseases and conditions. Because this is such an unknown thing, most umbilical cords go to waste.
