Get Caught Reading Month

May is Get Caught Reading Month!

Many of us are too busy to relax at home with a book. That's why you need to bring your book with you! Sneak some reading in during the day and get caught reading. You may even spark someone else's desire to read more!

Get Caught Reading Month is a nationwide campaign that promotes the joy and benefits of reading books. It was launched by former Congresswoman Pat Schroeder and supported by the Association of American Publishers. It’s a campaign mostly targeted at children to assure brain development by experiencing early language stimulation. It is currently managed by Every Child is a Reader, which is a non-profit organization that inspires the love of books in children and teenagers. The main concept of the campaign is to be seen reading a book by others in hope of wanting to make them read. That is why many stars and famous cartoon characters have joined the campaign to get others to read more. Some examples are: Laurie Hernández, Mayim Bialik, Charlie Brown, Clifford the Big Red Dog, Neil Gaiman, Keira Knightley, among others.
