AIDS Awareness Month

October and December are AIDS Awareness Month. Various sources claim to have it celebrated in both months, but no matter when you celebrate it, this observance is of great importance. 

AIDS stands for Acquires Immune Deficiency Syndrome. People with AIDS are more susceptible to other illnesses due to a compromised immune system. There are many myths surrounding this disease, who it affects, and how it is transmitted. This observance reminds us to take a step back and educate ourselves and out loved ones about the AIDS virus.
