October is Fair Trade Month

What is fair trade? Today, we see it more and more on our products, especially on food and clothing labels. Many people associate this term with organic goods, but it doesn't necessarily mean the same thing. 

Fair trade means that the company producing the product is paid fairly, works in safe conditions, and the money you're paying is going to help build a stronger community. Big brands that strive to pay less than the bare minimum often put their workers through dangerous conditions and pay them mere cents for their hard work. In a fair trade arrangement, products are produced in a healthy, fair way that is ethical and sustainable for everyone involved. Support fair trade products year-round!
