Deep Vein Thrombosis Month

March is Deep Vein Thrombosis Month. DVT affects upwards of 600,000 Americans every year. These clots typically occur in the legs, but can happen anywhere in the body. Worst case scenario is a pulmonary embolism, which is life threatening. Beware of abnormal swelling, blue/purple discoloration, and unusual pain or warmth in a localized area.
