Endometriosis Month

March is Endometriosis Month. Endometriosis is and incurable disease that affects roughly 10% of women and girls. It causes tissue that normally lines the inside of the uterus — the endometrium — to grow outside the uterus. It has potential to cause crippling pain, organ damage, infertility, and other severe and even life-threatening medical consequences if treated improperly. Many people sweep this under the rug for different reasons. Women know how painful menstrual cramps can be, so they just think "this must be a bad cycle," whereas men (particularly doctors) underestimate the severe pain that comes along with Endometriosis. If you or a loved one are experiencing abnormally heavy cramping or periods, speak to a doctor immediately.
