Celebrating Secularly

Everyone loves to have a reason to celebrate and it is not limited to those who are religious. Celebrations date back from the beginning of mankind and because religions have been prevalent throughout history, it makes sense that religious holidays are the most observed throughout the world. But over the years, many holidays have developed traditions that have nothing to do with religion or the religious basis of the holiday. This column celebrates the secular side of holidays around the world.
