A Brief History of the Blueberry Popsicle

The blueberry popsicle was invented in 1905 by 11-year-old Frank Epperson. He accidentally left a mixture of powdered soda, water, and lemon juice outside overnight and woke up to find it frozen. He called his invention the “Epsicle” and it was a hit with his friends. In 1923, he applied for a patent for his “frozen confectionery” and it was officially trademarked as the “Popsicle”. Blueberry popsicles have been a favorite flavor ever since!
