Can you imagine what it would be like if the calendar was changed and we lost 11 days? That's exactly what happened when the calendar was changed back in the 1700's and the gregorian calendar was adopted by the British and American colonies. The new year shifted to January 1st and in order to make that happen, the calendar in 1752 went from September 2nd to September 14th the next day omitting 11 days! 

Calendar Adjustment Day is a day to remember the adoption of the new calendar and how change can affect us. While people rebelled and wanted their 11 days back, the calendar stuck and has become a part of our culture. The idea is to remember that while change can be challenging and weird, sometimes it is for the best!
