Caramel is a delicious addition to just about any dessert or sweet treat. It’s amazing to think that the worldwide favorite is made simply by heating sugar, often combining it with cream, butter, and vanilla to create that gooey texture and the flavor we all know and love. You can make caramel at home, though getting it to exactly the right temperature does take some practice. If you’re not up to the task of making it on your own you can still enjoy it every year on Caramel Day either on its own, mixed with chocolate, covering an apple, or any other of the many popular combinations.
