History

Fondue comes from the French word fondre, meaning to melt. It originated in 19th century Switzerland where fondue was meant for hardening cheese. Fondue later became popular in the ‘50s at dinner parties and later was used as a method for dessert in the ‘60s.

Traditionally fresh fruits such as bananas, strawberries, pineapple and tangerines are used, but you can also use small pieces of cookie or cake and other goodies like marshmallows and pretzels.

So melt your way into this day by dipping into all different kinds of melted chocolates and different snack dippers.
