Compliment Day is January 24th!

National Compliment Day helps promote others to be kind to those around them. Who doesn’t love a good compliment? It boosts your self esteem, makes you feel great about yourself and overall puts you in a better mood. You never know what someone else is going through and your one kind act of gesture can make someone’s entire day. A compliment is just the boost of confidence we all need because after all, if you make someone else happy you are bound to feel happy yourself! 

History

Kathy Chamberlin and Debby Hoffman from New Hampshire created this holiday in 1998. They wanted to highlight the fact that you can have connections with others in a positive way that is free and impactful. Many studies have shown that compliments can have positive effects to the one receiving the compliment and the one giving it. Having such positive interactions between people can improve environments such as the workplace and the home.
