Create a Vacuum Day is February 4th

This day may make you think of a vacuum cleaner, which was named by the empty space in the canister that is filled up as the particles are suctioned in. But today is not about the vacuum cleaner, but more about understanding what a vacuum is and trying to create a vacuum from something at home.

This is a great day to learn more about how vacuums are created. Create a school project or project with your friends and family. Try a suction cup, syringe or other rubber object that will stick to a flat surface and create a vacuum inside when it is pulled on.
