Euro Day is January 1st

The Euro is the currency used in many countries throughout Europe. Having a single currency that can be used all around the continent has made travel and commerce between different countries much easier. This allows the countries to trade with one another and to be more economically involved with one another. January 1st celebrates the birthday of the Euro, which was introduced on January 1st, 1999.
