Galentine's Day is February 13th

Celebrated the day before Valentines Day, this is the day to shower your ladyfriends with love and attention. Galentines Day started on the show Parks and Recreation in 2010 in the episode entitled "Galentine's Day". 

Today is the day to gather all of your ladies and have a morning filled with compliments, gifts, and most importantly, food. Whether it is you and your bestie or a morning party at the office, Galentine’s Day is a time for ladies to celebrate ladies. Traditionally, Galentine’s Day is celebrated in the morning, so here is a list of a few foods to include in your Galentine’s Day breakfast. 

What to Serve at Your Galentine's Day Brunch

The first thing to be served is the drinks. I personally love a nice, warm caramel latte with my breakfast. This nice and made easy caramel latte recipe from Naive Cook Cooks is my favorite caramel latte recipe. A definite must have at your Galentine’s Day breakfast. 

If you and your lady friends are not feeling the morning coffee and want a little bit more fun in your Galentine’s Day drinks, this delicious Cranberry Orange Mimosa is the perfect drink. Not only are the drinks a pretty pink festive color, but these Mimosas are a perfect start to your Galentine’s Day breakfast party.

You cannot forget about the pastries at your Galentine’s Day breakfast. Buttered croissants are, of course, a must have. I have also added two of my favorite Mexican pastries. Pumpkin empanadas are the perfect soft and sweet pastry to have with the caramel lattes. The colorful conchas not only look pretty at your Galentine’s Day breakfast table but taste like heaven too. Both the pumpkin empanadas and conchas can be bought from your local Mexican bakery. 

For a main course of your perfect Galentine’s Day breakfast are blueberry pancakes. Who does not like a fluffy stack of pancakes drizzled in syrup. This recipe from Cooking Classy are to die for. These pancakes are made with blueberries and sour cream and taste delicious. As a blueberry pancake lover myself, I have tried many different blueberry pancake recipes but nothing compares to this recipe. These blueberry pancakes will be a hit at your Galentine’s Day breakfast. 

What is a side dish that would go well with your blueberry pancakes? Well, how about a hash brown casserole. This recipe from The Salty Marshmallow is amazing. A nice crispy top with the inside being a cheesy, creamy, potato heaven. It is the go-to side dish that will make all of your girlfriends be glad they woke up early to join your Galentine’s Day breakfast party. 

Last but not least you cannot forget the frittatas. A definite main dish to have at your Galentine’s Day breakfast. This frittata recipe from Cooking Classy, which is a personal favorite, would be at Leslie Knope’s Galentine’s Day breakfast. So yes, it has to be at your Galentine’s Day breakfast too. A perfect little frittata that is filled with beacon, spinach, tomatoes, and anything else you would like to put in it. The recipe on the Cooking Classy allows for you to add and take away foods as you please.  

For all the ladies out there, single or not, Galentine’s Day is a day where “ladies celebrating ladies” is important. We ladies need a day where we can take a moment to express our gratitude to the women in our lives and ourselves. And what better way to celebrate Galentine’s Day then with the traditional Galentine’s Day breakfast? The foods listed above will definitely get the Galentine’s Day breakfast party started.
