Global Day of Parents is June 1st

The Global Day of Parents is a day to appreciate all parents around the world for their selfless and lifelong commitment to their children and the sacrifice parents make for the well-being of their children. Parents are critical in the nurturing and protection of children and this day emphasizes the importance of their role in providing an atmosphere of happiness, love and understanding. 

This day is set aside to honor and celebrate the role of parents in society. It is also a time to reflect on the importance of family values and the unique contributions that parents make to their children and society.

History of Global Day of Parents

Global Day of Parents is observed on June 1st every year. The Day was proclaimed by the UN General Assembly in 2012 with resolution A/RES/66/292 and honours parents throughout the world.

On this day, we celebrate all that parents do for their children and families. We also reaffirm our commitment to support parents in their vital role. We recognize that strong families are the foundation of healthy societies. And we reaffirm our belief that every child deserves a loving home.
