In 2012, Britain’s Prime Minister David Cameron declared that May 2 would forevermore be known as International Harry Potter Day. 

This day was selected because it marks the anniversary of the Battle of Hogwarts that ended the Second Wizarding War. 

The entire saga is celebrated on July 31, the day Harry Potter was born, as International Harry Potter Day, and the books are celebrated on Harry Potter Book Day, this day celebrates a day in the life that was important in the story and is officially Harry Potter Battle of Hogwarts Day. 

It was on this day that the Battle of Hogwarts took place, where Lord Voldemort and Dumbledore’s Army had their final battle and the Dark Lord (Lord Voldemort) was defeated.
