Hedgehog Day is actually a celebration that began as a Roman tradition, preceding the modern and more well known ‘Groundhog Day’, as well as the release date for the most popular Sonic The Hedgehog game, Sonic The Hedgehog 3 in the USA, back in 1994. Hedgehogs have long been celebrated and have been granted an official holiday for every February 2nd.
