A hot toddy is a winter-themed drink with whiskey, hot water, and honey. There are many variations, including hot tea, coffee, butter, citrus, other liquors, and more. However, those are the three required ingredients. Originally from India, this drink was created to make whiskey more pleasant to enjoy. Once this recipe reached Scotland, it was often suggested as a cold remedy.

In the 1942 movie, Holiday Inn, Fred Astair and Bing Crosby famously sang “I’ll Capture Your Heart” with the line “why, here comes my hot toddy”. If you’ve never seen it, brew up some hot whiskey and put on this Christmas Classic, it might be the best way to celebrate today!
