International Day for the Eradication of Poverty

The International Day for the Eradication of Poverty is designated by the United Nations to be observed on October 17th, a date when the Universal Declaration of Human Rights was signed in 1948. This day was proclaimed to raise awareness to the need to come together to ensure that no one has to live in extreme poverty and hunger.
