International Day for the Remembrance of the Slave Trade and its Abolition

International Day for the Remembrance of the Slave Trade and its Abolition is observed on August 23 annually as designated by the United Nations. This day is intended to inscribe the tragedy of the slave trade in the memory of all people to raise awareness about the history that we share and to make sure slavery is abolished for good.
