Internet Day is October 29th

The internet. I don’t really need to say anymore. We all understand just how important the internet is to the modern world. It’s hard to imagine what life without it would be, even though life without it existed not that long ago. It may be famous for making cat videos and memes a thing, but it has also made information of all kinds available at our fingertips.

The first transmission of the internet took place on October 29, 1969, and even though it would be decades before the internet became available to the masses, this was a day that changed the world.

The birthday of the internet is now celebrated each year as Internet Day. You don’t really have to change much of your daily habits to celebrate this holiday. We know you already spend most of your day on the internet. Just take a moment to recognize how truly amazing it is that you can access all the information in the world without a second thought.
