Dog is truly man’s best friend, and this holiday is one that celebrates a four legged friend to many. Many people show their affection towards their loved ones by pampering them, dogs included. Some people pamper their dogs by taking them places, dressing them up in cute outfits, and simply giving them the love they deserve. However, there are many dogs that do not get to celebrate this holiday. This holiday was created for three main reasons. Firstly, to celebrate the owners that truly care and love their dogs unconditionally. Secondly, to bring attention to the dogs that do not get the love and attention they deserve. Thirdly, to spread the word that dogs deserve to be happy and healthy just as much as their owners do. 

How to Celebrate Little Pampered Dog Day

Every dog should be happy in whatever way suits them best. There are a variety of ways you can celebrate while also raising awareness and funding for dogs who aren’t as lucky to receive the same love and affection. Here are four steps to take to help spread the word.

1. Spread the word on social media about your pampered pooch. Choosing of course whatever makes your dog comfortable, take a picture of you dog being pampered and post it on your favorite social media site. Don’t forget to be creative in how you spoil your dog!
2. While these pictures are fun, they can also be used to spread awareness. These pictures can be used to highlight the many dogs that are in need of forever loving homes. If you have a rescue dog, you can also use the pictures to show the effects of saving a dog and how happy they are after being adopted.  
3. Many animal shelters and animal rescues are in desperate need of volunteers. You can help in a variety of ways including cleaning cages, walking dogs, and even simply spending time with the animals there. Giving your time and affection to these dogs can go a long way in the lives of the dogs and even help your local community as well. 
4. You don’t have to wait until April 27th to pamper your dog! This holiday can be celebrated every day all year round to truly show your dog how much they mean to you.
