Oreo cookies first hit grocery store shelves on March 6, 1912. It only makes sense that the Oreo’s birthday be the day when we celebrate one of the most iconic snacks in history.

Our research couldn’t parse out the creator of Oreo Cookie Day. Considering it’s the cookie’s anniversary, it’s isn’t hard to guess why March 6.
