Origami Day celebrates the art of origami, or paper folding. This is a celebration of transformation, showing that something as simple as paper can be turned into beautiful and complex works of art. This is a great day to learn some origami for yourself. There are tons of websites and youtube channels dedicated to paper folding that can guide you along the way. Start small with simple forms and eventually you can learn more and more complex figures. A good figure to create once you’ve learned the basics is a paper crane, which is a symbol for peace in Japan where origami originated.
