Oyster Day celebrates one of the world’s most beloved seafood dishes. There is some evidence of oysters being eaten since prehistoric times, and they are still enjoyed with passion to this day. Oysters are often associated with wealth, partially because of the pearl contained within some of them. They are also associated with love and lust because of their connection to the myth of Aphrodite, the Greek goddess of love, and their status as a possible aphrodisiac.
