Pet Day is a holiday dedicated to celebrating our beloved pets of all shapes, sizes, and species. Pets can be loving, loyal creatures who quickly become members of the family. If you have pets who you love, celebrate them on April 11th each year. This holiday was also created to raise awareness of animals currently waiting to be rescued. Animal shelters and other rescue facilities are home to many cats and dogs, but most people don’t know that you can also adopt all kinds of domesticated animals like reptiles, rodents, and farm animals. If you’ve been wanting to adopt a pet of any kind, this is the day to do it. If not you can celebrate this holiday by showing love to the animals in your life or donating to your local animal shelter. Even small donations of just a dollar or two can help.
