Pit Bull Awareness Day is the 4th Saturday in October

Pit bulls can be loving dogs who are obedient and loyal to their owners. Unfortunately pit bulls have gained the reputation for being mean and nasty dogs because of a few pit bulls raised by owners who encouraged such behavior. The negative image of this breed has led people to be prejudiced against them, which can lead to breed bans and a disproportionate number of pit bulls in animal shelters. Pit Bull Awareness Day is a holiday to promote the great things about this breed and change their negative image. This holiday takes place on the fourth Saturday in October.
