While getting your daily dose of vitamin D has several benefits that are crucial to your overall health, this day acts as a reminder that during the height of summer and outdoor activities, it's important to spend a day indoors or under the shade to give your skin a break. Excessive sun exposure not only leads to sunburn and an increased risk for skin cancer, but can also speed up the aging process as well.

Staying out of the sun and spending time indoors does not need to be all doom and gloom. There are plenty of fun and creative ways to feel sunny while lounging around in pajamas or your favorite pair of yoga pants.

Why staying in doors every once and a while is a good thing

Not only does it give your skin a break, but allows you to give yourself one as well. Most of us are constantly connected and on the go, but it is perfectly fine to use this day as an excuse to catch up on sleep and be creative with your time. Invite friends and family over to join in on the fun!
