Sunday Supper Day is observed at the beginning of the year to remind us the importance of having a family dinner together. 

History 

This day seems self explanatory, but the holiday was created for the recognition of family bonds built over Sunday dinners. When her oldest child left for college, Isabel Laesigg was hit with the reality of losing a person at the dinner table. This led to her reflections about how much quality, family time was shared over a meal. Thus, she created the Sunday Supper Movement. 

Importance of the Holiday 

Since 2012, this movement has connected families across the world through recipes. Sunday Supper Day is rooted in traditional family values; celebrating the vast benefits from a simple meal. Although this holiday is in January, make sure to try this tradition throughout the year, who knows what could come of it! If you don’t have accessible family, invite neighbors or other community members, a lot more than potatoes can be shared at the dinner table.

Ways to Celebrate

Find some recipes that everyone in the family will eat.
