All About the Ta Prohm Trees
Ta Prohm is an ancient temple that was abandoned and left alone by humans for centuries. When it was re-discovered, it was overgrown and conquered by trees. Ta Prohm is located in Angkor Archaelogical Park in Cambodia. The most famous huge tree encircling the temple is the Spung (tetrameles nudiflora) Tree. Other trees that have claimed parts of the temple are the strangler fig, banyan, silk-cotton, and kapok trees. The trees most commonly seen at Ta Prohm are Ficus gibbosa and Ceiba pentandra.
