The idea of this holiday is that if people with dogs bring their dogs into their workplace their non-dog owning coworkers will be inspired to adopt a dog themselves. Take Your Dog to Work Day is celebrated on a Friday in June. It began in the United Kingdom in 1996 and has since spread to many other countries.
