Celebrate Typewriter Day on June 23, the anniversary of the granting of a patent to American inventor Christopher Latham Sholes in 1868. Sholes is also credited with inventing the QWERTY keyboard layout.  Over the years, typewriters have undergone many changes and improvements, but they remain an essential tool for writers and businesses alike.
