Civil Air Patrol Day is December 1st

Civil Air Patrol Day celebrates the Civil Air Patrol (CAP) the civilian auxiliary of the United States Air Force. The CAP was originally formed during World War II as a group of civilians working within the United States to secure borders and provide additional services to the government on the home front. The order to create the CAP was signed on December 1, 1941. The Civil Air Patrol still operates to this day as an important but under appreciated branch of America’s armed forces.
