Whipped cream is usually just an accessory to other desserts, but January 5th is its time to shine! Yes, you can totally eat whipped cream by itself on this day if you want to. Or this is an excuse to get a bunch of other desserts and smother them with whipped cream. Make some homemade whipped cream for an even more delicious experience!
Remember all the times you’d notice your sibling spraying whipped cream directly into their mouth from the can? Yeah, there’s a holiday for that now.
History
Falling on the day of Reddi-wip founder’s birthday, Aaron Soffer Lapin, National Whipped Cream Day is meant to celebrate this sweet treat. Although whipped cream has been around since the 16th century, it wasn’t easily accessible, like the pressurized can version, until the 1940s.
