White Shirt Day is February 11th

This holiday commemorates a 1937 strike of General Motors workers to fight for better working conditions. The strike helped the UAW (United Auto Workers) union to become a bargaining agent for General Motors workers. It ended on February 11, 1937, and inspired many workers from other industries to fight for their rights. On this day, UAW members and other people wear white collared shirts traditionally worn by upper management to celebrate those brave men and women. Wear your own white shirt on this day to show your support for worker's rights!
