The HumanLight Holiday 

December has become a season of good cheer and a time for festive gatherings of friends and families. With Christmas having a Christian foundation, many who are not religious are not sure how to participate. HumanLight presents an alternative for those who wish to celebrate the spirit of family and unity without religion. 

HumanLight is a festive holiday that is humanity-based and entirely secular — not based on any supernatural, religious or theistic beliefs.  It is not derived from any other holiday and is not an attempt to change or “secularize” any existing religious holiday.    

The founders state: "We wanted Humanists at family gatherings and other holiday social events to be able to say "Happy Holidays" and mean it; to have a positive, constructive way to start a conversation in which they could explain to loved ones what Humanism is about. "
